They said they changed it to the second sign of the zodiac in Hirigana, but I tried Taurus in Hirigana and it didnt work. Maybe i copied and pasted the wrong hirigana, but idk.

hey hello there! ^^U
Do you know the new pass?
SteelDollS Featured By Owner Aug 12, 2016
I looked at the nicovideo link and it stated that the pass changed. The new password hint per Google Translate (this hint given by the author, so no foul to repost just the hint):

"The numbers of still image number + still image Posted month 4-digit will be 11 digits."

To translate from Google's crappy job into actual readable English, it means the pass hint translates as:

"The password is 11 digits long. Write the numbers after "im" from the still-image link's URL, then write the (four digits) numbers of month-and-day that the im/still image link was posted on."

The date that the im page was posted is listed at the top of the im page, just above the title, so it's easy to find.

Hope the hint helps.
AlixAllgood Featured By Owner Aug 21, 2016
It really doesn't, I tried almost every possible number combination with multiple different numbers (following the hint and the information on the page!).
So I gave up. Honestly, the dresses are nowhere near amazing enough to be worth this much effort.
SteelDollS Featured By Owner Aug 22, 2016
I hate it when I feel like I get to the point where I expended too much energy with no reward and then feel like I wasted my time for a reward of "being frustrated." So I totally feel for you.

And I just went back and looked again and THEY CHANGED THE PASS YET AGAIN. Seriously? Yeah. This is why it didn't work for you but worked for me.

That level of work just to download- a dress- not even a full model- seems stupidly unreasonable. If things are too hard to figure out on your own, this is when other people have to help you just to damage control the time and effort you put into failing to get the stupid thing. This is the point where "Ahh! I'm so excited, thank you for making this!" turns to "Are you freaking serious? Are you doing this just to mess with me? At this point I've put in so much time and effort and still not gotten it? This is no longer fun or exciting, give me the last hour of my life back."

If you want, note me, if you haven't already become so disgusted that you just want to forget the part. ;-; I can help better when it's not public forum where I'll get scolded for helping more directly. ._.

I'm very sorry to disturb you but, can I too get the dress? It's ok if I can't.
SteelDollS Featured By Owner Nov 9, 2016
I responded to you by note. Hope I helped! ^^
If not or you still need help, just reply to me by note please and I will try.
AlixAllgood Featured By Owner Sep 4, 2016
Sure, thanks a bunch man.
I'll take the dresses, because why not?

But honestly, I feel you so much on the "That level of work just to download- a dress- not even a full model- seems stupidly unreasonable" part. I have no idea WHY they're even changing the password repeatedly.
Are people breaking rules on credit and editing and stuff? Well, fine, but why doesn't the creator just take it down if people are abusing the rules that much? Or just ignore it and keep the original password?
Repeatedly changing the password without even a hint that it's been changed just frustrates people for no good reason.

At this point, I think the creator be trollin'.
SteelDollS Featured By Owner Sep 4, 2016
Well, it's true that often I find a download that seems like it's just there to inconvenience people who actually love it, because the password is not viable. So it's hard to say.

Unless it's something I absolutely love and is worth the rage and effort- after which, IF I can get it, I feel like I've more than earned it and feel mildly resentful about the sheer disrespect to my time. Honestly, at this point, if a pass is nonfunctional, I just bookmark it as "didn't get it, need pass" and move on instead of wasting a bunch of time on something I'll probably hate by the time I uncrack the magical impossible code.

Because even if someone spends hours or weeks on a really nice model, if they're gonna make it impossible to download, there's no point in using their work, and it's not to my benefit to invest my effort or time in it.

I laughed at the "creator be trollin'." comment though xD
AlixAllgood Featured By Owner Edited Sep 11, 2016
I luckily haven't come across that many, but there's always a few that frustrates me. Like, one time, I asked the creator for the pass, and they told me it, but when I tried to type it in, it didn't work. I tried every way to spell it, caps, no caps, but it just didn't work.

Probably what frustrates me the most, is when there's seemingly a really easy password to crack or whatever, but I just can't get it. For example, someone made a cool library that I wanted, but since they liked... (what was it's name...?) .... ....  hetalia! Hetalia, I think...
Anyway, it was the anime where all the countries/states/nations are envisioned as actual people, and they follow history as it goes along. (Like in the revolutionary war, America fights against Britain). At least, I think that's what it's about.
Anyway, for the password, they asked the question (or something like it): "What is Italy to America?" (I don't think those were the actual names that were said, but I forgot the specifics.) Like, how am I supposed to know that?
I looked it up, but no avail. I don't even know anything about the show, so how am I supposed to know?

For me, even if I do find something I really like, I usually save it for something specific, and so it just gets put in my clothing folder and then it never really gets found again, so for me, if it's more than just a tad frustrating, it really is just not worth it for me.
I shouldn't have to run a marathon and study for a test for something I'll probably never use.
Besides, I'm really bad at bookmarking things and keeping track of them. When I have to credit things, it sucks so badly. D:
Especially for some of the stuff, I had to go to the reaches of the internet, even worse when it's been deleted or something which makes it even harder, because I don't know if I just haven't found it yet, or if it's deleted.

At least we can get a laugh out of this frustrated adventure. :D

I feel that it is the responsibility of the maker to include all necessary crediting information on the download page as well as within the download itself. Since all MMD models regardless of .pmd or .pmx extension, have a small area in the editor, in which to put additional information about the model directly ON the model whenever it is loaded, there is not a good excuse to not do this, even if a readme file is not included in addition to this, in the file folder. Readme's can get misplaced; their words can get jumbled from language transition- a readme is not enough. And many models don't even provide a readme, let alone model information ON the model itself.

I feel of a few different minds of it, since yes, I feel everyone should credit, since MMD is sort of like a group project when you work together to make and share and edit all sorts of different neat things. So I find it very frustrating sometimes when I see people blatantly not crediting.

But on the other hand, it is completely unrealistic to expect perfect crediting habits when a majority of people do not have a system in which to go out of their way and do extra work, to keep track of things that really, the author is responsible for providing.

To fail to put all the needed credits in the download itself is sort of like a book publisher that fails to print the cover page, author's name, and publishing details, and yet gets angry when you fail to accurately provide credits if you quote a passage of the book in your report.

No one I know will take the time to even attempt to search through the hundred of thousands of millions of books that have been published in order to uncover the information, if the author didn't bother to credit themselves properly, either. So I can understand it, even though it's frustrating for everyone involved, when credit information is left as "I don't know who to credit for this part." It's frustrating for the person who wants to thank the maker for the part, it's frustrating for the creator of the part, and it's frustrating for the end user, who maybe wants to know where they can get a copy from, too.

Also it drives me nuts when a file is named something incredibly generic. Like, naming your Kaito model edit as simply, "Kaito.pmx" is completely unhelpful and sometimes detrimental. It doesn't give any hints about how to search for the maker of the model. It's so generic that if you keep it in a folder with other models that have the same name, they will overwrite each other, and it doesn't give an indication in the event of more than one version of the model- like, if you update the model and still leave it named the same- that a model has been updated from 1.0 to 2.0. As an example. It's just bad form.

I guess it's less important with things like accessories, but if you have 10 shoes files and they are all named just, "shoes," it's going to be hard to keep track of what came from where. If you have a hundred stages and multiple stages are just named, "stage01", "stage02" and so forth, it's not helpful. If there isn't a descriptive word in the file folder's name, then the maker or editor's name should be in there, to differentiate it from other models or accessories that are names similarly.

And I agree with you, passwords that rely on a fandom outside of the fandom you are downloading from are insane and infuriating. So are passwords reliant on things like, "say the chemical formula for such and so thing." Especially when the chemical formula isn't actually written like the password wants it to be, because of brackets or specific types of punctuation that are completely at the whim of the person writing.

I think one of the most aggravating ones I ever came across that drove me freaking insane with rage because it was supposed to be simple, was someone- I think it was for a camera- said that the hint was one of the words in the title. I remember the title was "Love and Joy" and I spent a fucking hour feeling like the stupidest idiot ever, because it was supposed to be simple. I did all the combinations of everything in English, then all the combinations of everything in romaji, katakana, kanji, everything, and nothing worked. I became so infuriated that I complained about it, and was then even MORE infuriated in absolute rage when I learned that they chose the password as "ai"

I thought my head was going to explode.
It is one of only two MMD downloads I've ever deleted, and it still makes me infuriated to think about it.
That password hint for that should have been, "one of the words in the title in weeaboo speech."

If I'm laughing over the absurdity of this stuff, it's only to keep from crying from the sheer stupidity. If I want to play a game, I'll buy a PS4. I don't need minigames to unlock MMD downloads. It's sometimes so frustrating.

But nowadays, unless I'm absolutely in love with something, and it's worth it to me to spend hours of my life on something that's there just to make me miserable, I simply move on if I can't figure it out within 60 seconds. I don't really understand the function of a password, except to keep people from downloading, anyways, so it's totally counterintuitive from the get-go to publish something for the public and then restrict the ability to actually download it, if to share your work is the goal.
